Infalible by L'oreal. My skin is pretty red also, and this stuff keeps my skin looking flawless! What is the best kind of base foundation makeup when your skin tone is very red?
I'm not sure about the foundation but I know you can use the green correcter stuff for rednessWhat is the best kind of base foundation makeup when your skin tone is very red?
I had the same problem. I went to Sephora and they helped me. I now you Bare Essentials. It's a mineral makeup. I love it so much.
you need a yellow toned foundation.
find makeup in cooler colors, no blush either! don't use anything that looks yellow or warm.

hope all goes well!
as a cosmetologist, i recommend trying max factor or mary kay concealer in a green tone.
Your best to buy a specialist foundation that is suited to red skin. Foundation which have a green or yellow undertone are best suited for red skin. Ordinary foundation wont tone down the colour, just mask it. xx
I highly recommend Prescriptives - they do custom-blending for alot of their products, so you can tell them your exact specifications and they'll blend it for you.
It's a big misconception to use a yellow based foundation to even out red undertones. It simply gives red skin a pasty look. I suggest using MAC. It comes in neutral, warm, and cool tones. They should have a shade that matches your skin.

However, I suggest that you get samples before purchasing a foundation. Most salespersons aren't properly trained and will try to match the shade to your face, which is a big ';no-no';. Makeup should always be matched according to your neck NOT your face, or else you'll look like you're wearing a mask.

And the other reason you should get samples is because department stores do not have natural lighting. They all use fluorescent lighting which tends to neutralize colors. So you should go home and apply your make up in natural lighting. (Ex: in a well lit room or outside)
