How can you tell good makeup colors for your skin?

I'm looking for a guide to tell me which shades of makeup work best for my skin tone. I'm sorta between olive-fair skinned (not too dark, but not pale porcelain white, either). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Serious replies only, nothing inappropriate, please! How can you tell good makeup colors for your skin?
You can go to any local makeup store and ask for a professional opinion. You might have to buy some of their products but usually they're answers will be more helpful than the Internet. Good luck! =)How can you tell good makeup colors for your skin?
get the book ';hair and makeup'; by maria claire. i have all her beauty books, and they really help... ok so ive done modeling, so i know a lot about makeup. if your complection is light, dont try dark eyeliner because it wont look natural. i think with your shade of skin, you should try brown eyeliner. do not use bright colored eye shadow. try using a deeper red lipgloss (this will make your lips look bigger) or perhaps a thin lip liner. try a light bronzer, this will make your complection look a lot nicer. if you would like a guide to makeup, i highley suggest maria claire, her books have detailed descriptions and step by step instructions. they also have wonderful pictures.

hope that helped! xoxo ** Janna**
well i think if you use shadows, any color would look good, besides black or charcol grey. just keep it light, you dont want to much, or else youd look like a drag. i love purples, golds, a silverish shimmer. all pastel colors.... never put dark blue, it always reminds me of the lady in drew carey lol
Gold shades will look good on you. If you are talking about eye shadow and eye liner, I would suggest deep green and brown-

What color of makeup for cool skin tone with warm eyes and warm hair?

I think I'm neutral because of opposite tones, but I don't know if I should wear neutral foundation or coolWhat color of makeup for cool skin tone with warm eyes and warm hair?
I think nuatrals are definetly the best way to go in your situation especially with darker hair it makes you look naturally pretty. What color of makeup for cool skin tone with warm eyes and warm hair?
Actually, it depends on which color matches your skin tone the best. Being cool skintoned and warm eyes and hair, probably the neutral color would work the best but depends on just how light your skin tone is. You can ask for samples of foundations through your AVON representative. I am not sure if anyone else offers this option or not.
Click on the source below and a covergirl webpage will appear, then fill out your description, then another page will appear and it will show all the different kinds of color that will suit your skin tone and eyes.

Is makeup bad for your skin even if you wash your face every morning and night and are on medication?

Lets say you wash your face in the morning and still take medication

and then put makeup on (concealer, tinted moisturizer/foundation and bronzer) and then wash it off at night and take medication again..

does makeup still cause harm to your skin?

also do you recommend any foundation/tinted moisturizer that doesn't clog your pores?

thankyou! Is makeup bad for your skin even if you wash your face every morning and night and are on medication?
It all depends on how your skin reacts to it. There really can't be a definitive answer with makeup because one person will praise one product and the next person will rant about how awful it worked for them. I've had makeup that is good for my skin (most mineral makeup works well with me, except that I'm too pale for most drugstore minerals). Then I've had bad on my skin (hello, Max Factor Pan Stick... ew).

The best thing to do is to look for sales on a makeup you are interested in and buy it then. I recommend buying makeup at Walgreens because they are great with returns. I've returned a foundation at Walmart before, but I've heard that sometimes they don't take makeup back.

That being said, I've used Maybelline and L'Oreal mineral makeup with success (except for the color selection on Maybelline... too dark for me). If your skin is dry, definitely try the Maybelline. If it's oilier, I'd go with the L'Oreal.

I can't tell you if this will clog your pores or not, but it doesn't clog my pores. Is makeup bad for your skin even if you wash your face every morning and night and are on medication?
You have a great routine going. You should be fine as long as you continue to wash your face before you go to bed. Never wear makeup to bed!

As long as you are using make up that says it's ';oil-free'; or ';non-comedogenic'; you should be fine. I love Physician's Formula Organic Wear. I have very oily/acne prone skin and this line of makeup is made from all natural and organic ingriedients. I've noticed that my skin is less red, irritated, and broken out since switching to it. You can find it at any drugstore.
I don't know the medication. For all I know a makeup could prove harmful or fatal with the medication, but not likely I guess. There is a lanolin based grease remover (Gunk) you could add food coloring to, wild but safe.
whoa you're doing way too much to your skin and it will become really damaged if you continue this routine. you can wash ur face 2 times a day but doint exfoliate 2 times a day
i love bare minerals

How do you find makeup to match you skin tone?

My makeup is either to dark or to light. So my face it a different color than my chest and neck!I want something that looks natural, but also covers up.How do i pick out the right foundation and powder? How do you find makeup to match you skin tone?
foundation that blends in with your jaw line is suppost to match with your skintone but concealer is supposed to be a bit lighter than your own skin to hide dark blemishes maybe your using to much concealer to make you light or to much bronzer try using tinted moisturizers which wont be noticable like bobbi brown or try revlon beyond natrual i've tied it nd its quite good a bit oily though so get loose powder it doesn't really matter what shade it is as long as your not using something darker than your skin it is their to set the make up overall tinted moisturizers are what u should be looking for anyway you could always just cover up blemishes with dots of concealer for a light weight flawless effectHow do you find makeup to match you skin tone?
At the store compare the color to the back of your arm.

Just that simple = ]

Hope I helped.
you should google Dinair Airbrush Makeup..its amazing! But the bets part is u can email in a pic and they will tell you what shade to go with that will match r skin tone...ive been using their makeup for the past 2 years and i LOVE it..it covers everything and makes my skin look flawless...its also all water based o it snot bad for ur skin..anywho..hope i helped..=)

What is the best makeup for combination oily skin?

I have already tried bare minerals it doesn't work for me.... I have very sensitive skin that breaks out very easily. My skin is very oily and I do apply a non oil based foundation and powder as makeup. I need good coverage that won't leave my skin looking like I just dipped it in a grease bucket. I always have to constantly blot my face so that it doesn't look oily. I need desperate help. If you really know what your talking about please give me advice. Thanks! What is the best makeup for combination oily skin?
If you're on a budget, I recommend Covergirl liquid foundation. It's $8. It lasts for 6-8 hours and is sweat proof. I have oily skin and it works great for me. I also have the pressed powder foundation to touch up on shiny areas like my forehead every few hours.

If you have the cash to spend, check out this magical formula:

Mineral makeup is best, it's very natural, has awesome wear-ability, is non-cosmogenic, and is oil free, but please think twice before using Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) OR Sheer Cover! These products contain bismuth which is NOT a healthy mineral and NOT at all recommended for sensitive skin, it can aggrivate skin promlems further! It resembles arsenic!!! I used this makeup not knowing this fact and it caused me a very bad allergic reaction including intense itch, large blotchy patches of redness, and break outs! After that i looked into LAMinerals but didn't go with them since they put silk powder (killing the animals that make the silk) and other weird ingredients like magnesium, and calcium into their makeup... Common sense told me the more ingredients, the higher the risk of blocked pores, break outs, and allergic reactions...

I then found this makeup and have been using it for 2 years now! It's wonderful! They have 17 foundation colors (way more then the competitors!) and 5 different finishing powders, choose the one for you skin type! Plus they have over 45 eye shadows! It really works well! Plus they are also MUCH cheaper then the 'big' name companies, and they're cruelty free and totally VEGAN (animal by-product free)!

They offer free shipping to the Continental US!

been there!

if your skin is like rediculously oily then get these sheets at big lots called ';espoliage'; for A DOLLER! they work really well

drink a bottle of water everyday your skin will be much less oily

hoped i helped!
Continue to use oil free products. And, when your on the go or simply somewhere where you don't wan't your oily skin to be seen, use some Clean and Clear cloths to remove oil. They can be found at Wal-Mart, or any drug mart. When using foundation, try to use something more powder-ish because powder is less oily then cream foundation. Also, wash your face every morning with oil free face wash. Lastly, use pore strippers on your nose to reduce the look of pores, and remove access dirt and oil.

Best of luck!

  • What is a good makeup brand for sensitive skin and eyes?

My face always goes red from foundation, and my eyes weep when I put on eyeliner.

I use Australis eyeliner and Revlon Matte powder.

And good products for sensitive skin out there? (:What is a good makeup brand for sensitive skin and eyes?
Mary Kay or AlmayWhat is a good makeup brand for sensitive skin and eyes?
I would definitely recommend Mary Kay, simply because its a great product at half the price of other brands such as Clinique. They have a great range of skincare and color cosmetics that have been specially formulated to care for and protect your skin. Check out the time-wise or the melaCEP system...You'll never go back!
I use Clinique. My skin is very sensitive. I have been using it for many years. If you can not get clinique then you may want to try Almay. However, clinique has worked the best for me. Hope this helps.

of course you alwas go a shade lighter -- the best foundation is a minerla foundation for two reasons- blends smoothly with your own skintone and is healthy for the skin check out SheerCover.com the products are great, look great on, and are healthy for the skin. It comes with two shades in their foundation so you can customize a shade that suits you. Does wearing makeup make your skin and eyes look worse naturally over time?

Because I've noticed that ppl who wear a lot of makeup when they're young look really old when they're older (older than those that didn't wear a lot of makeup), especially celebrities! It seems like the daily pulling and tugging of putting on and taking off makeup (especially the eye area), mixed with makeup remover, worsens the quality of skin and may loosen it; thus, give it more wrinkles. Also, the dry mascara coated on lashes and the chemicals for cleaning mascara daily just doesn't seem healthy for eyelashes.Does wearing makeup make your skin and eyes look worse naturally over time?
Yeah! You will resemble a witch in 5 years, be prepared.Does wearing makeup make your skin and eyes look worse naturally over time?
    yes.
I think it depends on the skin. Some people's skin gets affected very quickly while others don't so it varies from girl to girl

Hmmm.. Personally, i've been wearing make-up for the last 12 years, my face seems fine, no skin problems but being in my 30's, i think everything including my face seems pretty much the same when i was 25. I'm sure its more than just tugging and chemicals in the make-up remover, one's diet and overall physical and mental condition applies. Not forgetting the environmental exposure.
I think it all depends on the quality of the makeup and how much is used. It shouldn't cause problems if used sensibly and not overdone.
Sorta, but there's always the choice of plastic surgery.
I think it's possible that it does. Remember that celebrities wear the make-up much more thickly than the rest of us normally do, so they probably have more manipulating of their face. I have thought about this when I make up my eyes. However, I look SO much more attractive with eye make-up on, that it's worth the trade off. I wouldn't want to live the rest of my years without the eye make-up just to have my skin look a little better when I'm old. I'd miss out on looking my best while I'm young. I just try to be careful when applying and removing. One of my friends used to wipe a wet washcloth over her eyes - that's TERRIBLE! Use a good solvent that will dissolve without too much wiping.
    nope
This makes me think of the story about a photographer that Marlene Dietrich had liked. The next time he took her portrait she was not pleased. His answer, basically that he was years older than the last time he had taken her photo.
I notice allot of celebrities have very horrible skin when the take their makeup off. I don't know if they already have bad skin or the chemicals cause that. Personally I don't wear make because my skin is clear. Just a few molds under my eyes. I have long eye lash natural and I take care of my skin. By wash it in different skin products. I feel like a clown when I put on make up.
I think it depends on what sort of makeup you wear. I wear a liquid foundation that has vitamins and chamomile in it, so it's good for your skin, and I never use makeup remover anyway, my facial cleanser takes the makeup off.
it really is the type of make up used. Celebrities usually use a very heavy foundation make up because they are under lights alot. I tell people they should never use liquid foundation make up unless you have a special event. Use a light tinted moisturizer and then mix that with a little more lotion with an good SPF or water to thin it out more. Covergirl and other brands push the idea of liquid makeup to young girls early. It is not needed. Those who are religious about using it find that as they get older their complexion is getting worse.

Smoking is another factor. Forget about what it does to your lungs, heart, vessels etc, it will wreck your complexion.

I have seen 22 year olds with more wrinkles on their face than many 40 year olds, people in their 30's who look like they are in their 50's. It takes a toll on the skin. Big time.

Also, when going to tanning beds or out in the sun....NEVER TAN YOUR FACE. Sunscreen...and lots of it.
The reason why most women are obsessed with night creams and day lotions is that they try to repair the damage caused by all that tugging and pulling.

As for me, I try to avoid makeup as much as I can because, I'm too lazy to remove them properly afterwards. I stick to some lipstick only. But, if it's a special occassion, I obviously doll up.

What is the best lotion and makeup for super sensitive skin?

I have always had very sensitive skin and been allergic to most lotions. I am able to use aveeno hypoallergenic lotion but that's about it. I'm trying to find a good face lotion that I won't be allergic to. Any suggestions? What is the best lotion and makeup for super sensitive skin?
You are lucky. I have the same problems, and cannot wear Aveeno. I recently bought Phisoderm daily protection face moisturizer with spf 20. The Clinique one mentioned is really good, but I cannot afford to use it everyday. I also bought Clean and Clear Day moisturizer, and it is wonderful, I like the finish it has (it reduces shine all day, and doesn't dry out my skin). As far as things I have linked to my allergies, it is Q-10 for anti aging, certian ingredients for sunblocks, and Hemp. If you are buying from a drugstore, consider buying from riteaid/ cvs they have the best return policy. They will give you your money back if you try it and you breakout.

What kind of makeup suitable for fair skin tone with pinky dress?

My face skin tone is fair but I have a bit of dark circle around my eyes. I'm going to wear a pink tube dress for a function. Please advice what type of makeup should I put on for eyes, lips, cheek, etc. Thanks. What kind of makeup suitable for fair skin tone with pinky dress?
u can use a concealer under your eyes to hide the black circles. then u can use a make up to your face and neck. then put some pink browser(not too much). i would prefer a black shadow and pencil with a lot of mascara. but since i don't know your style put a pink shadow instead black. a pink lip gloss would be just perfect.... good luck!!!!What kind of makeup suitable for fair skin tone with pinky dress?
Be sure to put some concealer under ur eyes. (neutrogena or clinique is great) Then use either a light pink shimmer for eyeshadow. Or try a silver eyeliner as eyeshadow. Both these color will look good with ur dress and skin tone.
I'd go natural, brown/pinky eyes with mascara, cheeks more of a browny colour but not much of it and lips glossy with a light natural colour. Keep it simple.
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

    http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11鈥?/a>

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

light browns, silvers, grays and purple look good. i like black eyeliner and mascera, but if you want a softer look, try dark purple eyeliner, goes really good with hazel and green eyes, and black mascera. i like the revlon blush compacts or the physicians formula bronzer compact, in light brown or pinks.
I also have hazel eyes, medium brown hair, and tan skin. For eyeliner you should use black eyeliner. For eyeshadow you should use gold, brown, and yellow eyeshadow. For blush use pink or red blush.

I would STAY AWAY from bare minerals or anything else with bismuth oxychloride in it. If you google that ingredient, you will find lotsa info about how bad it is for ppl with sensitive skin. It's a heavy metal, closely related to arsenic and it can make you itch, cause redness and swelling, and clog pores!

My skin is very sensitive too and it took many years to figure out what was making my face itch!

I use LA Minerals products now and have been for about 5 months or so. No itching or problems at all.

They have samples for like $1-$2 and they ship them free:)

so it would be worth it for her to try it. I'll bet it will work fine for her.

Good Luck...and that's awfull nice for you to go on here and ask about this for her:)

Try organic products. I like physician's formula. They have an organic line.

';Hypoallergenic'; has no definition according to the FDA. Therefore, it really doesn't mean anything when some product has it written on the front.

    Bare Minerals.

It's for all skin types and ages and it is amazing!

It covers everything you want to cover without looking cakey.

You'll look younger and it will look like you have naturally great skin.

You can get it at your local Sephora beauty store or at Sephora.com.

It can get a little pricey, but it is deffinitely worth it.

It's normally from anywhere between $40 and $60.

But it depends on how you buy it.

If you get a full kit that comes with blush, concealer and mineral veil than it will be more expensive, but if you just buy the foundation it's cheaper.

I would recommend getting the kit though.

Another bonus is that it will last for a really long time if you use it correctly.

They don't use bismuth oxychloride, and their foundations are matte. Report Abuse

The only recommendation that I would make for you would to stay away from mineral powders containing mica. Mica is an additive found in most mineral powders, it gives the illuminating glow but can easily settle into fine lines and wrinkles and end up highlighting the areas that you want to minimize.
I wouldn't use Mineral Makeup at this age.

I would go for a light Foundation from Estee Lauder.

    I recommend :

Est茅e Lauder 'Double Wear' Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10.

Its a best foundation at your age.

    Plus its really flawless.

bare minerals are good, wont clog pores

What is the best brand of makeup that sensitive skin people should wear?

You really want to stay away from makeup that contains petro chemicals. I have sensitive skin as well and I use Aveda makeup. Now you have to becareful with makeup that contains more of the natural derived ingredients, you might be allergic to certain ones. For example I have a couple of clients that are allergic to things like peppermint that can be found in some lipsticks. Go to an Aveda store and ask then to help you find some makeup that suits you and try some on to see if your skin reacts well to it. =)What is the best brand of makeup that sensitive skin people should wear?
Neutrogena is good. It nourishes your skin while enhancing it.

What is a good makeup remover for eye makeup and for young skin?

Okay so I'm looking for something that removes eye makeup but can be used for removing foundation too, but like mainly for removing eye makeup. Also, can you please tell me where to get it from? What is a good makeup remover for eye makeup and for young skin?
I use Johnson and Johnson eye makeup remover and if I'm lazy and don't want to cleanse, tone and moisturise just to take off my makeup, I use Johnson and Johnson makeup removers. You can buy these products basically anywhere. What is a good makeup remover for eye makeup and for young skin?
I'm not too sure about removing foundation with it but Lancome Bi-facial is pretty good, it's gentle and gets make-up off pretty good :) You can get it at the mall they usually have it at the make-up section.
I just use regular Dove bar soap. It removes eye makeup and foundation.

Remover can irritate your eyes, I use Lancome and had a allergic reaction to it.
    Almay eye makeup remover pads.

    They're truely the best!

    :)

You can find them at drug stores, HEB, or Target.

Pretty much anywhere where they sell makeup.

    It's inexpensive and works!
The best thing to remove eye makeup is baby oil ,but ,I don't reccomend it for removing foundation. You can buy it where baby products are sold.
I suggest Johnson face and eyes makeup removal with blue pearls .it's gentle on skin an removes even waterproof mascara .try it you'll not regret.
vaseline works REALLY GOOD. that may sound kinda weird usuing vaseline on your face but it REALLY works!!
baby oil works perfectly and you can get it anywhere

  • Is there proof that sleeping in makeup ages your skin by 2 weeks?

I do this alot and if it's true I would look ancient by now lol!!! I think genetics determine how old you look. My mom and her mom have always look a lot younger then they actually were. I'm 21 and without makeup I can pass for a 15 year old!!!Is there proof that sleeping in makeup ages your skin by 2 weeks?
Not true, but it will definetely make your skin look worst if you always do this! Will cause pimples, oversized pores, lost of that healthy glow...

But if ur talking about wrinkles and fine lines is not true

90% of fine lines and wrinkles are for sun exposure!(at younger ages, sun will make you have wrinkles much younger)Is there proof that sleeping in makeup ages your skin by 2 weeks?
If I dont wash my makeup off at night, I wake up with tons of pimples!! I dont think it ages you though...
apparently so thats what makeup experts tell you.
    i hope not!!
I dont think it will age your skin, but it will clog your pores and will eventually give you blackheads and pimples. Yuck! Its good to practice good cleansing so your face/skin will continue to be healthy and glow. Even if it doesnt make a difference now, down the line it will.

What is the best makeup for extremely oily skin?

I have very oily skin and nothing, from liquid to mineral works. What is the best thing I can use? What is the best makeup for extremely oily skin?
bare minerals is what i have used since 2002. i have oily skin and all you have to do if you feel like your shining though during the day is put some more mineral veil on. but you dont have to and you will still look nice. its minerals so it wont hurt your skin reapplying a little during the day. What is the best makeup for extremely oily skin?
make sure you are using products suited to your skin type. anything made for acne can be drying, which will cause more oil production. anything not oil free may be adding to your problem.

these are the best long-lasting foundations for oily skin that i have tried...

    mark powder buff foundation $8

    avon perfect wear extralasting $10

    revlon colorstay $12

    clinique superfit $20

    merle norman lasting $26

    clarins truly matte $35

they all have pretty extensive color ranges, and can be found all over the US. the first is a powder, and the rest are liquids.

blot away excess oil with blotting papers like clean %26amp; clear, palladio, or boscia. adding more powder will make you look cakey.
amc foundation it will dry up the oil but not too dry
First boil water and pour it into a bowl. Put your face 2 inches away from the bowl and let the hot steam come on your face. This will make your pores open. After a few minutes (3-5) wash your face with cold water. This is good for oily skin. Also, apply powder, it makes your skin less oily. Buy some of the expensive brands. Because they are better quality. Such as clinique. Also use some masks for your oily skin. It helps!

    Good Luck
I use Clinique but my skin isn't that oily. try clay masks, they do wonders.
    use BLOTTING tissues

    and morning shine burst neutrogena
Cosmedicine's MediMatte. It absorbs all kinds of oil.
you need to make sure you use a waterbased foundation, or a mineral make up, this way when the oil rises to the surface you can gently blot it with a blotting paper and it wont lift or move. You also need to make sure wich ever make up you choose that is is ';non comedigenic'; this means it will not block your pores and cause more oil build up and breakout. you also may want to go to a natropath and see if they can give you something to reduce your oil secreation.
Chanel makes a phenomenal foundation just for people with your skin type! It is called ProLumiere. It imparts a very natural finish and is buildable (meaning it can be applied from light to full coverage). The best part about this foundation is that it has corn starch derivatives which actually help balance out the oil in the skin for well over 8 hours. (At least get matched at a Chanel counter and request a sample of this.)

I also highly recommend another product by Chanel, T-Mat Shine Control. It is a gel texture that can be applied to the skin (wherever it is oily) and will mattify almost on contact. The best feature of this product however is that you can carry it with you in your purse and touch up with it throughout the day if need be. You simply pat the tiniest bit on top of foundation (no rubbing) and voila! Instantly banishes all traces of oil. I use this particular product on all of my oily clients. Not once has it not worked.

Pricey, yes. However, these are 2 products that are simply unbeatable for their superior quality. Best wishes for beautifully matte skin :)

Johnsons facial wipes removes both eyemake up and foundation, and can be used for basic facial cleaning.

It is good for young skin because it is low in chemicals and isn't fragrance enhanced like many other facial wipes.

You can normally get them for less than $5 from chemists, supermakets or places like kmart in the make up section. What is a good makeup remover for eye makeup and for young skin?
mac and skin essentails both work great.

baby wipes work too. Report Abuse

lancome bi-facil eye makeup remover is honestly the best kind i have ever used.

it comes in a blue bottle. personally i just dip a q-tip in it and swipe off what i dont want on my lids and a cotton ball for mascara.

i'm not sure how much it costs because it came with my mom's perfume but i heard it's rather expensive =/ if money isn't an object it is a must have.

if you want something cheaper, almay makes eye makeup remover pads. i stock them in the shower. the pads are a good size and have just enough on them. :)

both of these don't burn if they get in your eyes either.
I use cetaphil it is a really gentle skin cleanser and is great for removing make up. It wont sting your eyes and is even pretty good at getting water proof mascara off. When using it just dampen your face with warm water or a facewasher and then rub it on and wash it off.
i use to remove my makeup with baby oil too but i stopped because i thought it was bad for my eyes...? is it? anyway now i use cetaphil but it doesnt really remove foundation well, so i use st ives apricot scrub to remove my foundation ..that works really well (not for eyes though)
Another great all round make up remover is sorbolene, its really cheap and very effective and can also be used like soap in the shower and leaves your skin very soft. just as good as really expensive brands, can buy in supermarkets too.
well cetaphil, is good and its very gentle,

i usually use cetaphile and then if i still have a bit on i use

lancome bi facil double action eye make up remover

it doesnt sting and it is very effective
i use avon eye make-up remover, i dont even have to try to not get it in my eyes because if i do it doesnt hurt abit, i just go crazy, lol.
    KRYOLAN
I use elf Eye Makeup Remover Pads
    depend of our skin

if oily skin try YSL for face and BLOOM for eyes

if dry skin try LANCOME for face and eyes

also JOHNSON'S wipes is good and cheap ;)
Maybeline i n make up remover. Best 4 wtrproof mscara n foundation.
hey something that works really good to remove eyeliner that has smeared or just wont come off is vaseline... put some on your face then wipe it with a tissue and it comes right off...
I use simple facial wipes and they get rid of your make-up. They're rather good :]

My friend uses simple make-up remover i think. You get it in a pink bottle lol!

    hope this helped you :]
I use baby wipes. Its perfect for skin that's sensitive or something. it gets all my eye makeup off too.
i use johnsons facial wipes. They feel really refreshing on your skin %26amp; remove all your makeup with ease
    Use Johnson's Baby oil.

What is the best Mineral Makeup for oily skin and large pores?

I have tried several of the mineral make-up brands, but they all make my skin look pastey and oily and they make my pores look huge! I would love to hear from anyone with this same problem who has had luck with wearing mineral makeup. I know there are so many different brands and formulas out there, and it would be just too expensive to try them all in hopes of finding the best one for my skin type. What is the best Mineral Makeup for oily skin and large pores?
If you really want an excellent makeup, there is a company called Christi Mar. It's an all natural mineral line. It won't make you break out or irritate your skin in any way. The coverage is great and you don't have to deal with a messy loose powder. It comes is a compact. You never feel or look like you're wearing heavy makeup. Its an awesome product. I know because I have the same problem! You can find them at www.christimarcosmetics.comWhat is the best Mineral Makeup for oily skin and large pores?
its not the make-up that makes your pores look so huge. you should try usin a little less make-up because the more you put on the more it pounds on your face and by the end of the day after you sweat it just all looks orange and like you have used the whole bottle. the best way to keep the oil off your face and not lookin so open and oily in goin to your local rite aid, or wal-mart and buyin these little sheets called oil absorbing sheets. they are found in your skin care products, and are put out by clean %26amp; clear.
    mineral bale and Bare Mineral
I use BareMinerals ID - it is the kind that is advertised on those infomercials on TV. I think its the best makeup ever. It really covers, and looks natural. You can buy it at www.sephora.com
Bare Minerals is pretty good 4 anything.
Joppa or Lumiere minerals. You canget inexpensive samples from either.

    http://www.joppaminerals.com

BARE ESCENTUALS IS OVER PIRCED AND HAS BISMUTH OXICHLORIDE which is a known allergen that causes itchiness and acne in many women. It also makes teh skin look :aluminum'; like. It's a cheap filler. Google it and find out why it's a big no-no. You'll find something you love with either of the 2 I've mentioned. I sleep in Joppa and it's rid my skin (combined with a skin care regimine that included Rx creams from my dermatologist) of acne that wouldn't go away. BTW, I have heard negative things about Arbonne: Overpriced and not at all delivering what they promise. Their sales reps are pushy and very agrresive. They'd gotten so bad with their hard sell marketing that they were thrown of of the Allure forums... FYI... for when you make your decsion.

Is mineral makeup good for your skin are there any benefits to mineral makeup?

I was wondering if it more benificial and healthier for the skin.Is mineral makeup good for your skin are there any benefits to mineral makeup?
No ... contrary to what you read above. It does contain natural ingredients, but if you check out a regular powder foundation, they have mostly the same ingredients. The sunscreen in mineral makeup is titanium dioxide, which is what they use in most foundations (liquids or powders). I react to some mineral makeups, as do a lot of people. They cannot shrink your pores, your pore size is hereditary and you can enlarge them (by allowing the to become clogged) but you cannot shrink them unless you have a dermatologist stitch them up. Most foundations are on the market (especially the oil free ones) are non comedegenic meaning they don't clog pores.

Mineral makeup is not good for people with dry skin - it can make it itchy and highlight fine lines, or very oily as it slides right off. It can be harder to find good shades if you have darker skin.

Now does that mean mineral makeup is bad? Absolutely not, it is a great option for many people and it creates a great finish. It's just a makeup product, nothing miraculous. Try it out and see if you like it. I have just discovered the avon mineral blush and I am loving that, it gives such a pretty color to cheeks. But remember, it is still makeup, so wash it off every night. Is mineral makeup good for your skin are there any benefits to mineral makeup?
Duh. Of course it is. It's derived from all natural ingredients. Your body needs vitamins and minerals to thrive. Obviously, something called ';mineral makeup'; would be beneficial and healthy for the skin. Use your brain! :p
I've been using Bare Escentuals for 4 years now and I love it! My skin is clearer and feels healthier. My pores appear smaller because BE doesn't clog them like liquid does. I have combo skin so mineral makeup is perfect for me. I agree that it's not best for super oily or super dry complexions. I started out using BE through QVC, but am lucky enough to have a Sephora close by so I now go there for all my BE. I would not go back to liquid foundation...yuck! I like mineral makeup also because it so much more natural looking than liquid foundation and is perfect for daily use.
It is good for your skin as long as it is an all natural mineral makeup. Some say they are natural, and then you look at the ingredients and find out differently. Other mineral brands contain bismuth oxychloride which is a skin irritant. I use an all natural pure mineral makeup; kms mineral essentials.

Mineral makeup is better for your skin because it has a natural spf factor, does not clog your pores, and contains zinc oxide which is a healing ingredient that calms the skin. I have been wearing it for over 5 years and would not go back to conventional makeup. It covers very well, takes me through the day and then some, and give me an airbrushed finish.

You can find kms on the web and on ebay.

    I hope this helps.
It doesn't clog your pores like regular makeup, has built-in SPF, and can help reduce oilyness and blemishes. However, some brand of mineral makeup contain bismuth oxychloride, which some people are allergic to. If you're allergic to it, it'll cause breakouts and rashes. I'm not allergic, so it works great for me.
it doesn't clog your pores, it has natural SPF, no chemicals at all so it won't cause allergic reactions... I use bare minerals and it has actually improved my skin! my pores are smaller and my skin is clearer although I didn't have really bad skin to begin with but all of that in like 3 months of using it...! I definitely recommend it

I want to know what makeup colors look the best on me. I also want them to be pretty cheap, preferably from drug stores.I have blue-gray eyes, dirty blond hair, and fair skin. What makeup should I use?
I'm just the same, tbh. I had make up done for me on my birthday at this chanel counter, and they said that browns and greys for the eyes is good, brown mascara and eyeliner, and not too dark lip colour. Try shops like boots (UK drug store) they have cheap cosmetics, and the natural collection make up range is very good :) rimmel is quite good too xI have blue-gray eyes, dirty blond hair, and fair skin. u sound like me.

Where can I get free samples of makeup and skin care?

I was watching the Tyra show and i seen this and went to her website and couldn't find any links. If you know any please help

thanks :)Where can I get free samples of makeup and skin care?
The Body Shop will give you a free sample of almost any product in the store if you ask nicely. Sephora often has samples on display that are yours for the taking. Department store cosmetics counters like Lancome and Clinique are usually pretty nice about samples, just be specific. Don't say, ';Hey can I have some free samples?'; say, ';I heard your [insert product here] is fantastic, but I'd like to test it out before making a purchase. Do you have a sample of it I can take home and test?'; Salesgirls are more likely to fork over freebies if you insinuate that there's a possibility you'll make a purchase in the future.

Funnily enough, the cosmetics counter at Walgreens often has really rad samples. Buy a cheap lipstick or two and while the cashier rings you up, ask if she has any samples she can throw in your bag, while mentioning that they're the reason behind many of your cosmetic purchases at that store.

Or if you go to Lush they do the same..Lush is far more expensivee so I try to not go there too often or i'll be tempted to buy a lot hahaha.

What can I do to have clearer skin without wearing makeup?

I have a skin problem, well, it's not bad but I don't like putting on make up and when I don't have makeup is where all of my discreptencies are seen, such as my hyperpigmentation of my skin due to acne and sun spots not to mention the dark circles under my eyes and sun spots. Oh, and I have such clogged pores. I've tried nearly everything and open to any suggestions. What can I do to have clearer skin without wearing makeup?
Washing, toning, and moisturizing all at least once a day. Steaming to open the pores, and then gentle squeezing to remove clogging (DON'T use your fingernails or tweezers, and DON'T squeeze to hard). Get products made to help with your issues, such as that olay definity or whatever. Also, have you seen a dermatologist? If not, make an appointment. Oh, and it's really better off that you don't wear makeup, because that can worsen skin conditions and clog pores even more. What can I do to have clearer skin without wearing makeup?
Yes, makeup is SO bad for your skin. Drink lots of water, and make sure you clean your face with an astringent every night. I like to use the St. Ives Apricot scrub, or maybe you need something stronger like nuetrogena. Stay away from too much sweets, like sodas and lots of chocolate too. Biotin is a good vitamin to take too. But you're so right about the makeup, i don't think people realize....
Proactive worked really good for me, it evened out my skin tone too....

Only problem is when I stopped using it--it all came back... =(

    Good Luck!
    proactiv dot com baby
I would really get BareMinerals. Itis the best makeup to cover stuff like that. I have used it for awhile now, and I don't think I would ever go back to using store-bought brands. Good Luck!!

You can also buy this stuff from department stores or specialty makeup stores like Ulta. It's a little more expensive than store-bought, but it is so worth it.

What can I do to rejuvenate my skin from wearing makeup to bed over the years?

Ive slept in makeup alot for a couple of years and I never knew it was horrible for your skin until recently (I know, im horrible)...I just never washed it off at the end of the day. Now that Im washing it off, what can I do to make my skin start to look replenished and renewed? any suggestions? What can I do to rejuvenate my skin from wearing makeup to bed over the years?
Okay, I'll list some products for ya.

Olay Regenerist MicroDermabrasion! I have this stuff and its amazing! Also when putting on the Dermabrasion use an electric toothbrush, it'll clean deeply into the pores and remove excess dirt and buildup.

Aspirin mask; take 3 pills, put them in a bowl of some kind. Add a bit of water about (1 tablespoon) add more water if needed. Let them dissolve for a few. Smooth it onto your face and while using the electric toothbrush, it'll exfoliate the skin, renewing the surface, great for acne aswell! Wait 15 minutes, then rinse!

Hope this helps and if you don't have an electric toothbrush a regular toothbrush will do fine, just graze it gently over your face in small circles.

What are your thoughts on Prescriptives makeup and skin care line?

I was thinking about trying it.....because alot of make up is harsh on me and not the right toneWhat are your thoughts on Prescriptives makeup and skin care line?
I love the quality of the makeup. I used to use their skin line but it was not popular and it was expensive compared to drugstore brands. I would buy their foundations in a heart beat but for skin line, I would go for Olay, which is much less expensive and very effective-What are your thoughts on Prescriptives makeup and skin care line?
Amazing. Quality is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

  • Is Almay skin clearing makeup with salicylic acid a good foundation?

my skin is kind of oily and i have some acne, but this makeup has salicylic acid and meadowsweet to improve your complexion. Has anyone used this before and if so, does it make your skin greasy, does it have decent coverage, and does it improve acne? also, does it have that orange tone to it?Is Almay skin clearing makeup with salicylic acid a good foundation?
i've never used this before, but the Neutragina skin clearing foundation covers your skin and it does clear your skin up, it does not have an orange tone to it.

i used to use it, it is a good product but they do test on animals if thats a factor for you.Is Almay skin clearing makeup with salicylic acid a good foundation?
    I used it.

My skin: Combination-Oily. My cheeks are on the dryer to normal side, while my t-zone gets oilier (specifically my nose). I am acne prone around my entire face, specifically in the lower forehead, nose, chin and upper cheek area.

My experience: It was too heavy. Coverage was decent, but it just felt too heavy. It never did anything for my skin, it might actually have broken me out. Smelled weird, went on a bit streaky (nothing blending can't fix) and I think that it actually had a pinkish tone on my skin. I can't remember though. All I remember is that none of the shades were a perfect match for my skin. The one I used was close, but i think it was too.. beige for my skin. And since I have more of a neutral, yellow and slightly olive undertone, anything beige appears pink on my skin.

It sometimes could look cakey a bit, but overall it wasn't too bad. It lasted long enough on my skin (that is with many powderings) and didn't irritate my skin.

I suggest trying it out, and it you dislike it, return it. Pretty much every store that sells cosmetics (or anything beauty related) has a return policy, so just ask the store.
No No No No. This stuff looks nasty and dull on your skin. It doesnt give it a nice look and i don't even think it did well to cover my blemishes. It also faded off my skin after a few hours. Try Nutrogena i had that for about a year when i broke out bad as a kid and it covered great making the clarity of my skin nice after a while and banding breakouts..but i think they changed the product colors..idk i havent used it in years but it was good.

What is the best full coverage makeup for oily skin?

i have been using bare minerals makeup for about 6 months. i don't feel like the coverage of the makeup is enough. i have red scarring from acne in middle school. i have combination skin and am prone to breakouts. i want a full-coverage makeup and am even willing to try something from a department store. i have used clinique for several years and never had good results. what makeup should i try to get full coverage without looking cakey and oily? What is the best full coverage makeup for oily skin?
I'm not sure if the product you've tried is Bare Essentials matte foundation. I just gave it a try -- it's their newest product, and it really keeps my skin from getting oily.

I'd DEFINITELY reccomend Loreal Paris foundation -- the ';True Match Super Blendable'; covers all of my redness and imperfections better than any other foundation I've tried.

Back when I had serious acne, it worked so well that my best friends were asking me, ';What are you using? Where do I buy it?!'; It's oil-free and is safe to use on acne-prone areas.

(If you're against liquid makeup, it also comes in a powder.)

I'd also suggest oil absorbing sheets, like the mini-size Clean %26amp; Clear absorbing sheets... perfect for on-the-go when you need to get rid of oily skin.

These are all available at your local drugstore, for a low price. Hope I helped! What is the best full coverage makeup for oily skin?
    Use Bare Natural.

    it works really good .

TIP: Make sure that you wash your face every night so you don't brake out even more(:

What is a good brand of makeup for Asian skin?

Especially foundations? Most of what I see in the stores have a pink tint, whereas Asians are a bit more yellow...What is a good brand of makeup for Asian skin?
Agree with the other posters about Shiseido. It was up and running in Japan over 100 years ago before many of the Western cosmetics companies were in business. Always a good starting place.

Try the Zhen beauty website too. It specializes in cosmetics for Asian skin and other women of color.

However, almost any good cosmetic line, department store or even drugstore (L'Oreal, for one) carries foundations with neutral shades, usually called buff, porcelain, true beige, that have a yellow undertone. Look for the so-called ';warm'; colors on the charts and avoid the ';cool'; since they will have the pinkish undertones. What is a good brand of makeup for Asian skin?
i'm filipino and i use bare minerals. it works really well.
You may want to investigate Shu Uemura and Shiseido cosmetics, both of which are Japanese cosmetic companies. I really like Shu most of all and I am half Chinese and half Dutch, so my skin tone is often tough to match.

http://www.shuuemura-usa.com/ will tell you where you can locate authorized Shu Uemura retailers in your state. Once you find a store, the specialists there can help you match your skin tone. Their cosmetics are a little pricey, but I feel the price is worth it.
LOL, i'm asian too and basically benefit does the trick, they sell it at some shopper's drug mart noww! but that's in canada so ya...hope you find the make up you need!

    Ciao*
You should be using the ones that are made in Asia. Like how Shiseido is made in Japan. You shouldn`t use Lancome and Chanel on your skin (but mascaras, lipglosses, etc. are okay) because they are for European skin since they are made in France.

What's the best quality makeup for fair skin?

I have ghostly pale skin and I want a foundation that is not too pricy, but not cheap in quality. I'm a fan of using powder foundation--I used Bare Minerals for a while but even their Light kit was too dark for me. I don't want people to be able to tell a difference in color between my face and my neck. Any ideas? What's the best quality makeup for fair skin?
Check out Loreal's mineral powder collection. They have more shades, and the texture/quality is very similar to Bare Minerals. What's the best quality makeup for fair skin?
try mabelline silky smooth. they work for all types of skin color
Try Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation...I have fair skin and it works great.
    M.A.C. is definitely the best.
Cover girl is the best if u dont want it to pricy
The best product for $36.00 is Bee Luscious Cosmetics

Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation in Linen
The best foundation is Mary Kay's foundation. Let me know if you are in need of a consultant.

I have mixed Skin wat makeup would look best?

I have medium skin and black brown hair and black eyelashes, darkbrown eyes that almost look black but i dont know what make up 2 wear help pleez ?I have mixed Skin wat makeup would look best?
If you have dark eyes, stick with eyeshadows and eyeliners that exentuate the highlights in your eyes. Maybe a light brown, or sometimes gold for dramatic looks. As for mascara, use Loreal's new ';eyelights'; for brown eyes. I have blue eyes, and it really brings out the blue in my almost violet eyes. Foundation: try things like Maybelline or Avon for it because I have really oily skin, and these brands don't clog my pores. When shopping, hold the color to your face to see how close it is. If you have any doubt that it'll match, keep looking. Ah, the pain of beauty. For natural skin cleansers, contact an Arbonne representative (arbonne.com) because nothing is artificial, cruelty free, and really great for the skin!!! %26lt;3

What is the best makeup for sensitive skin?

i tend to be highly allergic to fragrances and harshness when it comes to my face and break out into little rash-like bumps, but acne is not a problemWhat is the best makeup for sensitive skin?
I have sensitive dry skin and Bare Minerals is the WORST! It dries me out more, makes me break out and adheres to my skin. It's only good for oily skin, which is rarely sensitive.

My best luck has been with Clinque and Clarins. Clinque is formulated for sensitive skin and is fragrance free. Clarins has products for sensitive skin, but has a signature fragrance.

Stay away from drug store and discount store brands, they're the worst for sensitive skin, even if they say they're for sensitive skin. What is the best makeup for sensitive skin?
mineral makeups are usually the best for sensitive skin usally because they dont have ingredients that causes breakouts. But if you dont want to use mineral makeup then you can look for makeup thats oil free, fragrance free, and talc free. You should always read the ingredients at the back of any products that you purchase

    --------

    my suggestions for you are:

mineral: l'oreal bare naturals or maybelline ny mineral power

regular make up: covergirl clean or maybelline ny pure line

    hope this helps
i've used bare minerals for about 2 years and i love it.

it's not cheap, but i think it's worth it.

it doesn't clog your pores so you won't break out but it gives you great coverage.

if you don't want to spend so much money, my favorite product from them is the mineral veil.

so try it! it's really good and you can now get it at target and makeup stores like sephora or ulta.
DON'T GET BARE MINERALS IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN! It's going to irritate it even more! I have sensitive skin and acne and I also get lots of bumps. The best Makeup for sensitive skin would be MAC Mineralized Loose Foundation with SPF15.

    Good Luck! =)
bare minerals. Its pricy, but its natural looking , no fragrances. go to qvc.com you can buy a starter kit for about $50 with everything in it you need. Its awesome!
Mineral makeup like Bare Essentials will probably work best for you x x
Maybe like bare minerals would be good. It's really light, but also good for an even skin tone

Here is an excellent article about what types of make-up mistakes to avoid for more mature ladies. I have used these tips for myself and they really do make a difference.

It is one of the most useful articles I have ever found on how to make yourself look younger and not older by using make-up.

I'll also share my secret for taking 10 years off the look of your face in just 2 minutes: Slathering Aloe Vera gel on your face once a day. My mother asked me how I had gotten rid of the fine lines around my eyes and I told her it was Aloe. She tried it and has since thrown away all her other wrinkles creams.

I just buy it in a tube from a health food store. My mom buys the store brand at her local grocery. Its really cheap...about 4 dollars for a good sized tube or bottle.Recommendations for a good website that discusses makeup/skin care tips for mature women?

What can you do to prevent oily skin after applying makeup?

In the morning I go through my daily routine of putting on makeup, doing my hair, etc. But i notice throughout the day that my skin gets very oily and my foundation wears away. I usually put on a little foundation for a good base and then top it off with a powder. Does anyone have any suggestions that would help prevent this? What can you do to prevent oily skin after applying makeup?
you could use Balancing Moisturiser (Young Skin or Under Make-Up) or you could try Hollywood Oil Blotting Paper (Take The Shine Away Without Removing The Makeup) heres links to both i hope they help you :)

http://www.moorbodycare.co.uk/product.ph鈥?/a>What can you do to prevent oily skin after applying makeup?
Airbrushing make up is always a good choice when you have a problem with makeup coming off or want coverage that will Last for long.

Dinair has a water-proof line that stays on up to 18 hours. The coverage is great makes you look flawless! I haven鈥檛 seen them in retail stores. The best place to purchase a Dinair airbrushing kit is Palazah.com.
i would say that when u wash u face that u use a oil free moisturizer b4 applying make up then apply ur make up then apply translucent powder.

if this doesn't work i would suggest not applying make up that u don't need or not applying so much. and always remember to wash ur face thoroughly !!!!! after wearing make up !!!! hope i helped :]
Rimmel has a great foundation primer for $7. My makeup looks great after a long day and I do not touch up. I would start there and if it doesn't work for you, look for another. I would start with the cheaper primers before moving to more expensive primers.
Use a foundation that is oil-free. Once you start there the powder will actually start to help.

You can also buy blotter papers to remove the excess oil throughout the day.
you can use translucent powder just apply it like a powder it takes away all ashine and does not make you breakout and it also keeps the makeup on soooo much longer!
Instead of preventing after make up, y not cure it.

Nature has its best and permanent cure, try to spend your precious time in looking at my video in youtube.

Use a face primer for oily skin, i use the Yves Saint Lauren one and it's great.
    use zapzyt.

it's only a few bucks at drugstores.

it makes oily skin not shiny.

    and it';ll dryout your zits.

but apply it under your make up.

I am sort of a caramel color lol with oily skin and i barely wear makeup.. any suggestions? What is the best makeup for my skin?
alright...lol i'll try and help you out. ok, if you're cheap like i am but want good quality, use the almay foundation with the yellow or purple top. you can get it at like wal-mart, px, target, walgreens, anywhere really that sells makeup. the cheap 5 buck covergirl stuff works pretty good and they have a special one made just for people with oily skin. you can also buy that at the stores that i listed off. i hope that helped:)What is the best makeup for my skin?
get oil blotting sheets and a primer. lipgloss and mascara but no eyeliner for your oily face. mabe some oil control or matte powder.
as ur skin is oily u must do the following :

    a light gel hydrating lotion

    a makeup primer ( silicone-based)

conceal first then lightly apply a foundation designed. finish with an oil absorbing powder.

Stick to matte natural colored eyeshadows and cheek color, lots of waterproof mascara to bring your eyes out and a shimmer lipstick for some fun!
Go to Sephora and they will give you a makeover and tell you what is the best colors/types of makeup for your skin color/type!

Anyone who has used KMS mineral makeup? my skin was so irritated with bare escentuals-is this better?

let me know if you have used this.

does it make your skin look dull-BE did make my skin look dull.

please don't tell me to use BE-i have a reaction to the bismuth oxychloride which makes me sooooo itchy.

should i just give up on mineral makeup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! thanks!Anyone who has used KMS mineral makeup? my skin was so irritated with bare escentuals-is this better?
    Hi there-

I used to use Bare Minerals years ago and it made my face itch terrible. I thought it was because I wasn't using the right moisturizer. My dermatologist later told me it was the bismuth in the bare minerals makeup that irritated my skin.

He suggested I try kms beause it does not have Bismuth in it. I have been using it for quite a while now. I really love it. It feels so light but it covers very well for me. Don't give up on mineral makeup, just make sure you know what ingredients are in it. :)Anyone who has used KMS mineral makeup? my skin was so irritated with bare escentuals-is this better?
Another great brand without the bismuth oxychloride is Everyday Minerals. I've been using them for a few months now with great results. They have lots of shades to pick from and will send you generous sample packs for free.

For more information on different brands of mineral makeup, check out this article: http://www.natural-beauty-info.com/miner鈥?/a>
I am very pleased with KmS. My skin looks utterly amazing, not dull at all, and for the first time in years I get a lot of compliments on my skin. I love that it is a natural product; one of the few that my sensitive skin can tolerate.

Kms also has a fabulous customer service team. I had a few questions before I placed and order and they always responded quickly, even on the weekends and later into the evening at times. That means a lot to me. I hope I have answered your questions and that you give them a try!
After trying kms I am hooked! I love my skin now. :) I can't imagine using anything else. You should consider trying it. I am so glad that I did.

Is bare essentials mineral makeup OK for skin with acne?

I need a makeup that will hide my acne (i'm not excpectin all of it to be hidden) but is ok for my skin and won't break me out. I've heard good things about bare essentials and i was wondering if it really is as good as people say?And will it be ok for my skin?Is bare essentials mineral makeup OK for skin with acne?
honestly, it gave me one of the two worst breakouts of my life. it's because of the Bismuth Oxychloride in it, which a lot of people are sensitive / allergic to.

i've been a regular member on an acne site for a while now, and a ton of the girls there (i'd say at least 75% of them) had the exact same problem. also, from talking on that site, i learned that there are a lot of alternate brands of mineral makeup, which don't contain Bismuth Oxychloride (and which are cheaper, too!). you can read sooo much about about it here, and you can also post your own topics %26amp; ask questions: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.p鈥?/a>

(one of the favorites of the girls on acne.org is www.aubreynicole.com . some of them like www.everydayminerals.com as well. i've tried both, and prefer the product %26amp; customer service at aubrey nicole.)

(you do have to sign up to post questions, but it's free and quick. they won't send you spam or anything, and they're not selling products -- it's just a great site for talking about acne + everything related to it, including makeup.)

PS - what the answerer wrote above me: ';imitations are cheap for a reason'; - is actually incorrect. there are quite a few good mineral makeup brands on the market. Bare Minerals simply has a lot of hype and is well known. it's no better than others, and could actually be considered worse, given the Bismuth Oxychloride and the reactions that ingredient causes. Paula Begoun wrote an article about mineral makeup on her site, http://www.cosmeticscop.com/default.asp . you'll probably find it very helpful (it's at the bottom left of that page.)Is bare essentials mineral makeup OK for skin with acne?
I have acne and i use the bare essentuals.. it works great!

it gives me good coverage for all my pimples %26amp; red bumps..

bare essentuals is great because its all natrual; no artificial ingrediants that clog pores or cause breakouts.

if you order it, then i reccomend also getting the 'bisque', its a great concealer for extra coverage.

    hope this helps! :]
i used bare essentials for a very long time when i had acne, but when my acne got worse i found i had to use liquid to cover it better. but it will definately not do anything to your skin, its just the question of how well it will cover. and how much acne you have.
i recommend bare minerals by bare escentuals. i've been using it for 5 years now, and my skin never looked better, i totally love it. it doesn't clog pores, it's natural, covers well, and doesn't melt off in the heat.it works for all skin types, it is actually good for the skin.
Its possible the healthiest for your skin ,

    makeup on the market
I just answered another question very similar to this one. I use mineral foundation on almost all of my clients and especially on those with acne prone skin, I will only use mineral powder foundation. I have not had anyone break out from the mineral powder foundation, in fact quite the contrary. My clients say that their skin actually looks and feels better and more refined. This is a great choice for acne prone skin.

Very important to note, there are many mineral powder foundations on the market today and new ones popping up daily. Choose one with a good reputation and that is natural without fillers, mineral oil, petrolatum or preservatives. These ingredients can break you out. I use either Bare Minerals or Arbonne's Mineral Powder Foundation on all of my clients. These products last for a long time and are well worth the money. Imitations are cheap for a reason!

    Hope this helps!!

    Good luck! :)
There are many posts on here that talk about bare essentials and how it has caused more break outs and clogged pores, I tried it and was very unhappy with how it made me look and I began to notice clogging pores as well. If you need a foundation in good conscious I can highly recommend Bee Luscious Cosmetics they have an incredible skincare line of products that are healthy and good for your skin while delivering beautiful skin, looks and feel .. good Luck
Yes, my aunt uses it %26amp; she has always had bad acne. so im pretty sure it'll be ok for u

What's the best makeup for pale skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair?

What eyeshadows would look best on me?What's the best makeup for pale skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair?
The best colors for blue eyes to enhance any blue shade are brown, gray, taupe and rose. Brown shades are the most flattering palette for blue eyes simply because the brown contrasts with the blue eye color, bringing out every shade of blue in the eye. Other good choices for blue eyes include lavender, plum and purple. These colors work well with blue eyes, although they do not enhance the blue eyes like the brown colors will.

Im pretty pale and blonde as well and find that browns and purples work the best. What's the best makeup for pale skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair?
i really think green%26amp;brown would look

great if u have blue eyes, blonde hair,

and pale skin to make u have like a

natural look. color of outdoors. so

    go for brown%26amp;green eyeshadow :D
Peaches, browns, and golds will bring out blue eyes, and purples look good with all eye/skin/hair colors. You could also use taupes and any natural shade.
almay eye color ehancers for blue eyes. I use it. I love it =]
I agree with most answers here. Just a reminder to anyone, though- no blue eyeshadow! Navy eyeliner makes eyes brighter and other colors enhance your eyes/hair. Coral is a universal flatterer, but blue is not! My best friend has long white-blonde hair and blue eyes, but it looks bad even on her, and she's gorgeous. Avoid it if you can!
Try the Lumene line of makeup, its sold at CVS. The colors are specifically made for people who look Nordic like you.

Hint : try pinkish or mauve eyeshadow. Or topaz.
I have blue eyes blonde hair. and i were blues and it looks really good also tans.
dude, my friend amy sounds exactly like you. She is pretty as heck and she wears blue eyeliner ( must) and dream matte makeup thats one shade above her normal skin tone.

  • Can I wear skin makeup during surgery?

Can I wear skin makeup (foundation, concealer and powder) during surgery? I might have nasal surgery later on and have bad skin that I want to keep covered. I would not wear any blush, eye makeup or lipstick. If needed, i could just not put makeup on my nose or over my eyes so they can tape them shut. Can I wear skin makeup during surgery?
Hah... I've never heard of anything more vain or conceited... the doctor will be helping you and your worried about what you'll look like under anesthesia?

Boy your in for a nice little surprise after the surgery then. No amount of make-up will cover whats gonna happen to your face then. Can I wear skin makeup during surgery?
no. youre not supposed to wear makeup nor jewlery. even if you do come in with makeup on, when your under, they will just wash off your face, and probably wonder why you are wearing makeup. dont worry about your face. you'll be fine, im sure they wont even notice what you notice. Good Luck, God Bless
you really should not wear any makeup. The anethesiologist will need to be able to see your skin color to make sure your oxygenating well. Also you don't want to take a chance on any of the makeup getting into your incision.
No - no makeup is allowed. When your surgery is scheduled, they give you an instruction sheet telling you exactly what you can and cannot do and makeup is one of them.
If you're getting surgery done on your face, no, do not put foundation or anything else like that on...most likely the doctor will take it off anyway, but if any of it was left on, it could get in your incision(s) and infect them.

If it's on another part of your body, then sure, you can wear whatever you want.

How to apply makeup to oily skin?

When i put on my makeup in the morning it looks fine but in a couple hours my face looks so oily! I have homecoming soon. When i use a foundation for the dance what kind should i use? liquid? powder? i use a powder bronzer but my face still gets oily. I want to get good foundations that will cover my blemishes and not make my face look oily. how should i apply my makeup and with what? How to apply makeup to oily skin?
Try using Clean %26amp; Clear Oil Absorbing/Blotting Sheets. They come in a small, flat blue case and contain 50 sheets. Works miracles for me and doesn't mess up my make-up!How to apply makeup to oily skin?
i would advise you to use powder foundation and powder eyeshadow and stuff like that. powder dries up excess oils and reduces shine. its soooo much better than liquid because liquid can get really messy and cause stains and it can ';tell all your business';...like liquid foundation, can see the line where it stops, but powder can smudge and blend in with your skin.
they have makeup for oily skin. you can use either foundation for your ski. first put facial lotion on that wont make your skin oily, like clean and clear, then put your makeup on over it. get non-pore-clogging makeup. ooooh try physician's formula. they are supposed to be great.
I am the same way, very oily. After trying thousands of foundations, from Vincent Longo to CoverGirl, I have to say only one foundation lasts on my skin. That is Revlong Colorstay ';Active'; formula. I have worn this more than 16 hours and it lasted beautifully. It is creamy and sweat proof. You need to apply this by your finger tips-
I JUST solved this problem last week. Smashbox will be your best friend!

    Apply in this order:

    1) PhotoFinish Foundation Primer ($36)

    2) Anti-Shine ($27)

    3) Conversion Cream-to-Powder ($32) on blemishes

    4) Function Five Self-Adjusting Powder ($36) on entire face.

I use to have an oily face after 2 hours and I now last over 10 (I took it off before I became oily. Will last even longer I imagine)!!!!! I admit I was a a MAC junkie (actually I still am) but Smashbox foundation is the best!
clean and clear makes oil blotting sheets

they are just little sheets that makes your face not so oily

you just rub it on when it gets oily and the oil goes away

and it doesnt ruin makeup =]]

What is your favorite skin or makeup tip that you would like to share?

for a nice face scrub, mix some milk with some brown sugar (use more sugar than milk)

leave it on for a minute, then Wash it off. What is your favorite skin or makeup tip that you would like to share?
My favorite skin/makeup tip would have to be... be yourself. Enjoy how you look and have fun with it. There's no point in spending hours in front of the mirror if all you're going to do is criticize yourself or cover up what you can't appreciate in its natural beauty. First, love yourself how you are, and then play up your natural features or enjoy the artistic/creative side of makeup.

Wear what you like, be who you are, and don't betray it to stay up to date with the latest trends if they don't flatter you. You wouldn't squeeze into a size two and looked like a stuffed sausage if you were really a size eight, would you? And if you did, would you be comfortable?

You got to pick a skin and makeup regimen that suits your lifestyle, so if you're the type of girl who takes a ten minute shower and pulls clothes out of the closet blindly, don't set ridiculous skincare routines that take up an hour in the morning... pick something that works for you and works well. What is your favorite skin or makeup tip that you would like to share?
To make lipstick last (especially for those sexy retro vibrant red lips out now): apply lip balm, line and fill in lips with nude coloured liner, put on lipstick straight from the tube, pucker up, blot with a tissue paper but before removing the sheet dust a large fluffy brush with loose powder over, then reapply lipstck and top with gloss if desired.
Hi, My makeup tip is less is more. I use Bare Minerals sold on QVC or Bella Rose by Serious Skin Care sold on HSN. These are the new mineral makeups that are actually good for your skin. Keep your blush and eyeshadow on the softer side and you will always look natural and pretty. Hope this helps. Smiles and good luck !
Water and a good eating. And always moisturing lotion
drink a lot of water for healthy skin and a good hydrated body
Clean makeup off before bed,use several hot and moist towels to lay on face in the morning instead of soap

Why is it important to prepare the skin for makeup?

can someone please tell me in detail why it is important to prepare the skin for makeup application?

thanks in advanceWhy is it important to prepare the skin for makeup?
It is important to prepare so that skin appears smoother and had more even skin tone - its important to moisturise because foundation, concealer etc can highlight dry skin. Remember to let your miosturiser sink in for 10 - 15 mins before applying make so it doesnt slip off the skin! Why is it important to prepare the skin for makeup?
I have always heard that if you put on moisturizing lotion before u apply makeup that it will help the makeup go on smoother and helps for smoother lines.
Why wear makeup at all?? It will only damage your skin in the long term and you will end up a dried out old prune by the time you hit 30!
you need to put a good amount of moisturizer on before applying any kind of foundation on so it wont get dry, or flaky.
there are 3 steps before you apply make-up:

    1. cleanse- this opens your pores to give your skin a good clean and remove any impurities

    2. tone- this removes excess cleanser and closes your pores to prepare for moisturising.

    3. moisturise- this helps to keep your skin soft and supple, it's best to use 1 with an spf in it to protect your skin from the weather. it also allows you to apply foundation with ease
i guess it depends on what type of makeup you are using. I use airbrush makeup and we are supposed to wash the face..pat it dry and then begin spraying the makeup with nothing underneath. I use the dinair airbrush system and i am in love with it. It doesn't dry out my skin, it helped clear it up and there is no preparation before hand. just a suggestion.

Which is the best healthiest makeup for your skin?

so sorry but i forgot the name of the makeup but its organic, and it workes better than bare minerals.

you can buy it at whole foods, it pricey, but theres really only 5 makeup companies in whole foods, and they all work the same.
I would try AVON I';m a representative for them!! We have mineral makeup!!! It's not to pricey you should give it a try!!!

    My website is youravon.com/morganmiller

Let me know if you need any further help. I'll be glad to give you more information
A lot of people suggest bare minerals, but Everyday Minerals is basically the same except it's much cheaper and looks very natural
    I agree on Bare Minerals.

What makeup makes your skin look natural?

    my complexion is Light-brown,caramel type.

    i've never worn makeup before.

i want a more natural smooth look that make my face look like i have no make up and doesnt make me look darker.

any help? What makeup makes your skin look natural?
Bare Minerals is a very good product. However, it can tend to be a little pricey. There are a few good inexpensive copies of this brand out there though. I don't know if you have access to a beauty supply store called Ulta or not, but they have a line of products of their own that is very similar to the Bare Minerals products and much less expensive...that is what my mom and I both wear. It is very natural looking makeup and actually good for your skin contrary to some of the other types and brands. You may be able to purchase the Ulta product online. I am not sure. Good luck to naturally great looking skin! What makeup makes your skin look natural?
I dont wear alot of makeup unless i'm goin out. I have the same complexion as you. I first use concealer to conceal any flaws or dark under eyes...then I use every day mineral powder (it's very light and looks natural). After my foundation I add blush to my checks. Make sure you curl your eyelashes to make ur eyes look awake then add mascara I like to use maybelline turbo lash or something it adds volume. This look is so natural I feel pretty and everyone always thinks I dont wear makeup and I think guys like that. ;)
Hi! I use Avon, and it works great on my skin! I would totally recommend their powder foundation and blush! It makes your skin look flawless! I have a few blemishes and the foundation covers it up! I love it! It won't make your skin look darker if you get the right shade! You should try it! =))

    Hope I helped!

  • What is the best makeup for fair skin you can buy at a drugstore?

I have fair skin and I want something that works really well and looks natural. I also want something that's cruelty free (not animal tested) and that doesn't make you break out...What is the best makeup for fair skin you can buy at a drugstore?
I'd suggest Maybelline Pure Makeup. It's made with 50% water instead of the oils used in most foundations that causes breakouts. Since it's made with a lot of water it looks natural and translucent. It comes in 12 shades and does not test on animals. Plus it retails for only $15.

Hope that helps :).What is the best makeup for fair skin you can buy at a drugstore?
Almay isn't tested on animals but rimmel and Cover Girl is.
    covergirl .its the best .
I like Almay...but I don't know if it is tested on animals.
    Rimmel
I am not sure of the best makeup to get at a drugstore but, I do know that you should get it at RiteAid because they allow you to return makeup that you don't want. It keeps you from wasting money while you are trying to find the right makeup.
    Covergirl %26amp; Almay.
    Try Almay. :)

What is the best kinda of makeup for dry skin?

cremes are cakey, but powders make me look flaky. is there a brand of type you would suggest? What is the best kinda of makeup for dry skin?
I would recommend moisturizing your skin well before applying any make-up. The make-up I find to be the most skin friendly is Bare Minerals. Natural looking, easy to apply, it doesn't feel heavy and it's made from pure minerals. What is the best kinda of makeup for dry skin?
Try Almay or CoverGirl, they'll let you choose your skin type, and select make-up that's best for you.

    Clinique
Use moisturizre before you use any foundations. That should help. Or, try some tinted moisturizer.
    MAC
Anything water based or oil based but never use any makeup alcohol based which dries out the skin much more so than all the others.
a little oil will soften your skin %26amp; make it glow, so you will only need lipstick.good luck.xxxxxxxx
